In this module, students will get an overview of the major world religions represented by THUMB: Tribal/traditional religions, Hinduism, Unreligious, Muslim (Islam), and Buddhism. During MTS, many students work cross-culturally with people in the US from these religious groups, and many plan to serve among them in the 10/40 Window after graduation. We give a whirlwind tour of each religion, their origins, basic beliefs, and "bridges" to the gospel. We emphasize Islam but apply the principles to all religions. We also further explore the topic of contextualization, which is how to evangelize, make disciples, and worship in appropriate ways that honor the integrity of our message while making sense in different cultures.
